You’ll Never Walk Alone Protest

On 28 August 2020, Bristol’s LGBTQ+ community gathered on College Green outside City Hall to show solidarity with the Polish LGBTQ+ community. The Polish government has continually made life worse for LGBTQ+ people, including local government’s introducing “LGBT-free zones”. The protest was sparked by the arrest of dozens of people LGBTQ+ people and allies in Warsaw on the 08 August 2020 who were protesting a court order granting two-month pre-trial detention of a member of the Stop Bzdurom (Stop The Bullshit) queer collective.

Gathering outside Bristol’s City Hall, members of the city’s LGBTQ+ community, including a number who were originally from Poland, delivered speeches to the crowd who held flags and banners.
